The Alternate Costumes are the costumes worn by the various Covers (also referred to as Swings and Alternates) in Six the Musical. They have unique designs, variations, and colors from the standard principal costumes, and were originally introduced as a cost-saving measure and to promote individuality for the covers by giving them their own individual costume(s).
Currently, alternate costumes are used in the West End and UK Tour productions for second and third covers for alternates, and for all covers for super swings. They are also used in the Australian Tour for all covers for swings and alternate swings.
Originally, alternate costumes were worn for all of the covers' tracks. They were discontinued in North America in 2020 when the Broadway Production opened, and on the Norwegian Cruise Lines when the Bliss and Breakaway Cruise 2.0 productions opened.
This page serves as a basic guide to the history of each alternate costume, when they're currently used, each of the variations worn for every Queen, and who has worn them. Please note that this page is not a complete guide, and does not include every person who's worn an alternate costume. Please also note that this page only includes the most updated versions of each variation, and there are different iterations and slight differences between each costume.
