Edward VI was King of England and Ireland from 28 January 1547 until his death on 6 July 1553. He was the son of King Henry VIII and his third wife, Jane Seymour. He is mentioned several times in Jane's song Heart of Stone, as well as multiple other times throughout Six the Musical.

- Edward was the first English monarch to be raised as a protestant.
- While writing the show, Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss considered adding Edward into the show as a backing vocalist alongside the other children; however, they instead decided that the cast would be comprised of the queens alone.[1]
