This person is mentioned in Six, but does not make an on-stage appearance.

Elizabeth I was Queen of England and Ireland from 17 November 1558 until her death on 24 March 1603. She was the daughter of King Henry VIII and his second wife, Anne Boleyn. She is briefly mentioned a few times in Six the Musical between songs, most notably where Anne says she "had a daughter, then [Henry] literally chopped [Anne's] head off".

Trivia[]

  • Elizabeth gained the nickname "The Virgin Queen" because of her refusal to marry; however, she did state that she was married to England.
  • When Elizabeth found out that her father had died, she was with her brother, Edward, and the two cried together.
  • While writing the show, Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss considered adding Elizabeth into the show as a backing vocalist alongside the other children; however, they instead decided that the cast would be comprised of the queens alone.[1]
  • Although Elizabeth is mentioned in the show, she is the only child of the queens who is talked about in the show that is never mentioned by name.
