Trivia[]
- Jane was the second cousin of both Anne Boleyn and Katherine Howard. She was related to the two through their great-grandmother, Elizabeth Cheney.
- Due to Catherine Parr's later marriage to Jane's brother, Thomas Seymour, the two would have been sisters-in-law.
- Jane served as a lady-in-waiting to both Catherine of Aragon and Anne Boleyn.
- Out of all of Henry's queens, Jane received the least amount of education, receiving only a "standard" woman's education for the time. This was because she was of the lowest gentry compared to Henry's other queens.
- Jane knew how to read and write a little, but she was more skilled with needlework and household management.
- Jane was never officially crowned as queen.
- Despite this, she was the only one of Henry's wives to receive a queen's funeral.
- At Jane's funeral, Mary I acted as the chief mourner.
- Despite this, she was the only one of Henry's wives to receive a queen's funeral.
- After Henry's death, he was buried next to Jane, as he had requested.
- For swings and alternates that have two first covers, the role of Jane Seymour is most often paired with that of Catherine Parr.
- For swings and alternates that have three first covers, the role is most often paired with that of Anne Boleyn and Katherine Howard, or Katherine Howard and Catherine Parr.
- The reason why Jane references The Rolling Stones in the show is likely because of their song Lady Jane, which was named after her.
- The Rolling Stones also have a song called Heart of Stone, which shares a name with Jane's song in the show.
- The inside of Seymour's skirt changed from white to black in August 2019.
- Until the 2021 West End cast change, Jane Seymour was the only principal role in Six that was solely played by white actresses, with Claudia Kariuki becoming the first principal actress of colour and first Black principal actress to debut as the role.
- Carly Dyer would have been both the first principal actress of colour as well as the first Black principal actress to play the role; however, she never made her debut in the show due to a combination of COVID-19 restrictions and her role in Anything Goes.
- In the musical, Jane's 'queenspirations' were Adele and Sia.
- In an Instagram story, Toby Marlow stated that if Six were to be made into a movie, he would like either Demi Lovato or Lady Gaga to play Jane.[1]
