Maiya Quansah-Breed is an English actor, singer, and dancer. She played Catherine Parr in the 2019 West End Production of Six the Musical, beginning on 17 January 2019. She left the show on 13 October 2019, and her role was taken over by Danielle Steers.
Maiya played the same role in the 2018 UK Tour from 11 July to 30 December 2018. She also emergency covered the same role in the 2019-20 UK Tour on 13 December 2019, and in the 2019-21 West End Production on 5 January 2020. She additionally reprised her role for the 2022 West End Reunion for the upcoming proshot of the original West End cast from 19 June to 1 July 2022.
When asked if she could play any other queen, Maiya said that the answer changes from week to week because "[she] think[s] all the parts are great".[6]
Maiya was meant to be a guest performer at Six's "Queens Uncrowned" concert alongside Vicki Manser, Grace Mouat, Alicia Corrales, and Renée Lamb, as well as the 2019-20 UK Tour cast. However, the concert was ultimately cancelled due to COVID-19.
Maiya was featured in a July 2019 episode of the Post-Show Drinks podcast.
Maiya was featured in the 23rd episode of Robbie's Backstage Bants.[9]
In 2020, Maiya was nominated for the Best Female Actor in a Musical Award at the Black British Theatre Awards for her role as Catherine Parr.[10]
Her as well as the other original 2018/West end cast members and Grace Mouat formed the girl group SVN.
