Chicago[]
Following the success in the UK, it was announced on 20 December 2018 that Six would have its North American premiere in Chicago, replacing the cancelled world premiere of Bedknobs and Broomsticks, running from 14 May to 30 June 2019.[1] The production was likely a Broadway tryout.[2] Casting was released on 28 March 2019, and featured Adrianna Hicks (Aragon), Andrea Macasaet (Boleyn), Abby Mueller (Seymour), Brittney Mack (Cleves), Samantha Pauly (Howard), and Anna Uzele (Parr), with Mallory Maedke and Nicole Kyoung-Mi Lambert as alternates.[3] The production began in previews on 14 May 2019, before officially opening on 22 May 2019 at the Chicago Shakespeare Theatre in Chicago, Illinois.
A week after its opening night, Six announced it would be extending through 4 August 2019.[4] Samantha Pauly (Howard) left the show temporarily on 23 June 2019, with Courtney Mack serving as her replacement. Adrianna Hicks (Aragon) left the show temporarily on 20 July 2019, with alternate Nicole Kyoung-Mi Lambert serving as her replacement. On 1 August 2019, it was announced that the Six would transfer to Broadway in 2020.[5]
The engagement concluded on 4 August 2019, where it was announced that Six would return to Chicago in 2020, which ultimately served as the launch of the first National Tour.[6]
Cambridge[]
On 24 April 2019, it was announced that Six would open the 2019/2020 season at the American Repertory Theater, running from 21 August to 27 September 2019.[7][8] Casting was confirmed on 15 July 2019, with the cast of the Chicago production reprising their roles, with Adrianna Hicks returning as Catherine of Aragon and Courtney Mack continuing as Katherine Howard.[9] Previews began on 21 August 2019, before opening on 24 August 2019 at the American Repertory Theater in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
The engagement concluded on 29 September 2019, after extending for three additional performances.[10] Courtney Mack (Howard) departed the show on its closing night.
Edmonton[]
On 28 January 2019, it was announced that Six would make its Canadian premiere for the 2019/2020 season at the Citadel Theatre, running from 2 to 24 November 2019.[11][12] Casting was confirmed on 12 July 2019, with the original cast of the Chicago production reprising their roles, with Samantha Pauly returning as Katherine Howard.[13] A preview performance was held on 1 November 2019, before opening the following day at the Citadel Theatre in Edmonton, Alberta.
Former-replacement Courtney Mack returned as an understudy for Katherine Howard on 17 November 2019. The engagement concluded on 24 November 2019.
St. Paul[]
On 29 July 2019, it was announced that Six would have a fourth limited engagement at The Ordway, running from 29 November to 22 December 2019.[14] Casting was confirmed in the fall, with the original cast of the Chicago production reprising their roles, with former-replacement and understudy Courtney Mack returning as an alternate.[15][16] Just days before the engagement, it was announced that Abby Mueller (Seymour) had temporarily left the show, with alternate Mallory Maedke serving as her replacement.[17][18] Although not officially announced, Brittney Mack (Cleves) had also temporarily left the show, with alternate Nicole Kyoung-Mi Lambert serving as her replacement.[19] A preview performance was held on 29 November 2019, before opening the following day at The Ordway Center for the Performing Arts in St. Paul, Minnesota.
On 11 December 2019, Shantel Cribbs joined the production as an understudy for Anna of Cleves. The production closed on 22 December 2019, with Cribbs departing the show. The production ultimately transferred to Broadway at the Lena Horne Theatre in New York City, New York.
